Ole Miss trolls Auburn, Hugh Freeze, report about Kiffin leaving all in mock âchillyâ weather report
Ole Miss wasted little time following the 28-21 win at Auburn on Saturday night.
The Rebels’ official social media account trolled the Tigers, Auburn coach Hugh Freeze and a reporter all in one shot.
The reporter referenced is Columbus, Miss., TV anchor Jon Sokoloff. In November of last year, he tweeted that Kiffin was set to resign as Ole Miss coach and head to Auburn. Kiffin at first attempted to shoot the report down by quote-tweeting “that’s news to me Jon. Nice sources.”
Kiffin then created his own fake news release about Sokoloff’s future. Kiffin “reported” that Sokoloff was set to leave Columbus’ WCBI-TV for WLOX, a station in Biloxi.
Ole Miss trolled Auburn earlier in the evening, too, showing Freeze and Kiffin on the field pregame, with a caption which read, “Coach Freeze and a fan.”
Jaxson Dart had 246 yards of offense and three touchdowns to help No. 13 Ole Miss beat Auburn. Dart led the Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) to touchdowns on their first two drives before plunging into the end zone from a yard out on the final play of the third quarter for a lead Ole Miss held onto.
Quinshon Judkins added 124 yards rushing and a fourth-quarter touchdown run for the Rebels. Tre Harris had 102 yards receiving.
Auburn dropped to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the SEC.
